Assignment:
Create a poster using a photo for the "What are the Solutions to the World's Problems" that illustrates three of the Graphic Design Principles. Write an explanation of how you used the the three design principles.
I wanted to shed light on littering. Littering is a big issue, not only does plastic waste disable and kill many animals every year but so do the disposable face masks that we now have to wear because of the coronavirus. A lot of the time I see face-masks being thrown on the street and it affects the animals and plants as it ends up in the ocean. The animals at sea and on land get entangled in the masks elastic ear material or even choke on it. This is an important issue and everyone should be aware of what is happening to these animals and know to not throw away their masks on the ground, however still to this day I see masks on the ground when I go outside and it's very frustrating and sad to see knowing that it is extremely harmful to these animals.
Three of the graphic design principles that I used were, made one thing important, activate the diagonal and manipulate the scale. I cropped the photo so that the one thing that is important is the face mask that was thrown on the ground. I activated the diagonal when I took the picture at an angle so that the mask was the main focus. In a way I manipulated the scale because of how small the mask is compared to the background.
